ISP-era operation evidenced by Wayback captures of customer account/usage pages (a-accounts.cfm, a-getusage.cfm, May 1999) and hosted personal user sites (e.g. hawknet.com.au/-jkerr, -ozrepublic) — classic small-ISP hosting pattern. Not to be confused with HawkNet Labs (hawknet-labs, Leichhardt NSW, founded 2024), an unrelated later entity. |

16 Jun 2006 (services ceased)

hawknet.com.au carried an ISP farewell page announcing 'From Friday 16th June 2006 Hypermax will no longer provide your internet access and email services' and diverting customers to Telstra BigPond — the end of ISP service delivery on the domain. ISP-era hosting is evidenced up to early 2006 (customer user pages captured Jan-May 2006: ~afx, ~altitude, ~dsimon, ~gin, ~henriw, ~hrmoller). The corporate shell continued as Hawknet Australia Licensing Pty Ltd (ACN 093 338 884, Hawkesbury NSW; ABN active from 16 Jun 2000; GST cancelled 1 Jan 2020) — a licensing entity, not the ISP operator. NOTE: the exact Hawknet-to-Hypermax brand relationship is not fully documented; the farewell page is the operative closure evidence. |
